The Palace of Cienfuegos de Peñalba is located spectacular on a hill next to Pola de Allande hamlet (north-east of Alande). The building dating back to XV-th century. It has an L-shaped ground plan, over which three solid non-battlemented
towers stand lending the structure a certain monumental character.
The
two oldest towers have a square ground plan, while the newest has a rectangular one and overlooks the town. Given
that this tower was the most suited to function as living quarters, a
gallery was added in the 19th century.
