Cuenca Cathedral was built from 1182 to 1270. From that date the cathedral has undergone several changes - adding of elements, redesigning, etc. The facade was rebuilt after it crumbled down in 1902.
Together with Avila`s cathedral this is the 1st Gothic style Cathedral in Spain.
A curiosity about the cathedral is the "Unum ex septem" signs at some chapels. It is said that if one prays looking at these signs one would obtain a five-year forgiveness for one`s sins, and seven years if one prays during the patron saint`s day.
