Church of the Assumption, Villanueva de la Jara

The parish church of the Assumption in Villanueva de la Jara holds the title of Basilica and  has been declared a Historic-Cultural Monument in 1982.

This church was built in the XV century with stones from the ancient Arab castle of Villanueva. It has a polygonal apse and buttresses of great height.

The main altar has a valuable three bodies in gilded wood.
