La Cala beach is next in south-west direction after Playa Poniente beach of Benidorm. This is a small cove which is mostly enjoyed by residents and ex-pats who are
wintering in Spain. The area is well known for safe swimming and offers some
great bars and restaurants right on the beach. It is popular with gay visitors
and local gay residents.
