Festival of the Ox (Festa do boi) is held in Allariz every year during the festival of Corpus Christi. Then garlanded oxen run through the streets of the town.

Corpus Christi is celebrated by Jewish communities. Then flour along with ants is thrown on the spectators. This is to commemorate Xan de Arzua who sprayed ants on those Jews who ridiculed other religions. The original anti-Semitic background to the festival has been forgotten by most modern viewers.
