Basílica de Vega del Mar is situated in the town of San Pedro de Alcántara (west of city of Marbella).It is built in VI-th centyry near the mouth of the Guadalmina River along an old Roman road which connected Cadiz with Cartagena. The church is one of the few examples of North African Visigothic churches built in Andalusia. It can be located within a group of churches with two apses, one facing west and the other east.
