The Church
of San Ildefonso in Jaen is located not far from the Jaen Cathedral. It is a a Gothic church built in 1248 and it has the Virgin of the Chapel, who is the patron saint of Jaen. The high altarpiece shows the descent of the Virgin to the city and it also contains the tomb of the architect Andres de Vandelvira.
The exterior of the church is like a fortress. There are two towers beside the facade. The church has elements in Neoclassic, Renaissace and Baroque styles.
