The Feast of San Martin (Dia de San Martin) is popular event in the mountain villages and towns of Andalucia. It is a traditional autumn fiesta (called also la matanza - literally, the killing) when pigs are slaughtering and drying hams and sausages are prepared for the winter months. A great deal of eating and drinking accompanies the events.
