What to see in Municipality Pielagos

The medieval tower of Velo (Torre Medieval de Velo) is located near town of Arce (municipality of Pielagos), at the old road between Santander and Torrelavega. It was belonged to the family of the Ceballos-Escalante and exercised fiscal control of the passing of the river of Pas. On the other side of the river in Oruña, there were two more towers with the same function.

The site is Declared Cultural object in 1983.
