The Planetarium is one of the two attractions of this kind in region of Madrid (together with Cosmocaixa science museum in Alcobendas - a suburb of Madrid). It was inaugurated in 1986 to become an educational and promotional center for astronomy and science. The planetarium has 2 exhibition rooms and a projection room which is equipped with 50 projectors that reproduces 9,000 stars, the solar system, galaxies, black holes, etc. There are also a cinema, a tower of the observatory and a store.
