What to see in Municipality Leioa

The Basque Museum of Medicine and Sciences History (Medikuntza eta Zientzia Historiaren Euskal Museoa) Jose Luis Goiti is located in town of Leioa. It was open in 1979 after the idea of Dr.Jose Luis Goti Iturriaga - head of the Bilbao Academy of Medical Sciences.

The museum is houses in 2 buildings - part of it is in the School of Medicine and Odontology, and there are expositins in other 19 exhibit halls that are located are in the building of the Central Library.

In museum are displayed more than 8000 exhibits - tools and devices used in cardiology, oftalmology, radiology, etc., an old operating room, lab and office and also more than 7000 specialised books on medicine and sciences, with documentation and iconography
