The Eco-museum of the Basque Buildings (Ecomuseo del Caserío Vasco) is located in town of Artea (26 km south-east of Bilbao) an is housed in a building meant to resemble a typical Basque country-house from the XVI-th century.
The museum shows the habits and life of the "baserritarras" - Basque villagers from the past centuries. There are exhibited more 700 antique items and tools, both inside and outside the house.
In the house are shown reproductions of typical bedroom and kitchen from the middle ages, and objects used in everyday life - traditional medicines, wool, linen, tools, carpentry items and txakoli.
Outside the house is exhibited a selection of equipment and tools used for tilling the land, harvesting and transport.
