Gas Natural Tower
Type: Tower
The building of "Gas Natural Tower" is one of the most unique buildings in Barcelona. It is a work of the Catalan architect Enric Miralles and the Italian architect Benedetta Tagliabue (who designed also the current construction of the Santa Caterina market). The building is headquarters of an old gas company.
The Gas Natural Tower was open in 2006. It has 3 sections, with a 4-storey section in the shape of a cascade and a five floor horizontal "aircraft carrier" extension jutting out from a 22-floor, 90-meters tall tower.
Although its aggressive and the gravity-defying design the building attracts lots of visitors as an example of modern architecture in the city of Barcelona.
