What to see in Municipality Pamplona

Pamplona Citadel is one of the main architectural point of interest in the municipality of Pamplona. It construction was started in 1571 by King Philip II in order to take a stand against the constant incursions of the French army. The original construction of the fortress was a regular pentagon with five bastions in its corners but later construction of the "Primer Ensanche" (first extension) of the city necessitated the demolition of two of them.
