What to see in Municipality Salobrena

The castle in Salobrena has Moorish origin. It is situated at the summit of the hill near the village and is surrounded on 3 sides by steep rock faces. From there visitors can see stunning views to the Costa Tropical coast and to the mountains of the Sierra Nevada in the far distance. The present fortress dates back to the early 12th century, although there was a fort there since before the late 10th century.
