The Botanical Gardens of Cap Roig in Calella de Palafrugell is a beautiful series of gardens set out on terraces surrounding a 20th Century castle. It is the creation of Nicolai Woevodsky, an exiled Russian colonel and his English wife. The complex hosts The Costa Brava Jazz Festival during July and August.
