Alcázar del Rey Don Pedro in Carmona was built during the Muslim era. The early Palace was the seat of the Kings of the Taifas. In the 18th century during the reign of King Pedro I "The Cruel" lengthy reconstruction work on the compound were undertaken, giving it its current appearance. Nowadays it is Parador of Tourism.
