Type: Fortress
This castle is an evidence that town of Cártama was one of the most historically important towns in the Guadalhorce region. The upper area of the fortress is built in a rectangular ground plan from east to west, with four towers defining its shape. The most predominant feature inside is the rectangular shaped water tank excavated out of the rock and covered by a vaulted ceiling, built to store rain-water.
