The episcopal palace is located at Plaza de Eduardo de Castro in Astorga. The palace has the aspect of a castle, mansion and temple with its impressive exterior constructed with granite stone of white color. Constructed in a neogothic style in период between 1889 and 1915, it presents a series of elements with apparent military function like battlements, towers and others as viewpoints and terraces. The building is at present the seat of the "Museo de los caminos " (Museum of the ways) and show an interesting collection of sculptures of Renaissance and baroque in polychrome wood and silverware and gold liturgical elements.

Episcopal Palace of Astorga (Palacio episcopal de Astorga) is a work of Antoni Gaudi - great sample of Catalan Modernism. It is one of the only 3 works of Gaudi outside Catalonia (others are Casa de Botines in Leon and Capricho de Gaudí of Comillas in Cantabria)
