The Castle is situated on hill dominated town of Velez-Blanco. It was constructed by Don Pedro Fajardo, first Marquis of Los Vélez, in 1506. The castle has a hexagonal sat upon the rock mass which crowns the town. It is one of the main attractions of the region.
