Monastery of Santo Domingo is located in the very centre of Betanzos, at square Praza Irmáns García Naveira. Its construction was begun in the middle of XVI century and continued during the XVII.
The monastery was build on base of an ancient chapel and built in rubble work, except the Main Chapel where the material used is cut stone blocks.
The chapels in monastery has different styles: The Chapel of La Soledad (Romanesque), the Chapel of Las Ánimas (Baroque) and the Chapel of La Virgen del Rosario (Neo-Classical).
