The fortress Castle of San Gabriel (Castillo de San Gabriel) was built in 15th century. It is located at a small island in front of the Arrecife port and connected with Arrecife by a draw-bridge. The fort was created in XVI century by the Italian architect Leonardo Torriani.

Nowadays the castle houses an archaeological museum where are exhibited local finds - coins, pottery, jewellery and more.
